Nashar Contemporary Indonesian Painter

Perhaps the reader can not imagine that there was a painter in this country, particularly living in Jakarta, was disturbed when the painting - the painting sold. That Nashar, an artist well-known painter in painting the life of contemporary Indonesia. Nashar can be classified more precisely by Zaini, Popo Iskandar Baharudin, Oesman Effendi, Trisnosumardjo.

And oddly enough her paintings are rarely sold. Although he was on numerous occasions only exhibition of his paintings include the highest price Rp. 75.000, -. Price is not much in the 70s compared to the price of painting the other peers rank him.

"Poor Nashar's paintings rarely sold '," he never escaped the impression of a painter Rusli, which many follow the development of these colleagues. For Nashar did not matter whether or not the painting behavior. He has enough reason to accept that risk.

And it's not nonsense or a kind gesture to attract the attention of others. He has proved it all and close associates who had met or associated with him knew it. A crew of birth Pariaman (West Sumatra) was last living in the Central Cultural traveled, slept on the table with a number of paintings stacked just crowded.

According to friends joke is, he Minang people are not good at looking for money. Even to maintain that stance was uncompromising, courageous frankly say 'no', he emerged from his post as professor at the LPKJ (Jakarta Art Education Institute), was also Hereinafter interpreted to a stance of principle for him, dared to release a number of sizable honorarium from the academy.

In addition, he was known teachers who like to mix directly with students and draw together. For their students and faculty that he was sympathetic type. For Nashar, it is not without reason. He is a painter who reject academic system as implemented now. When his gallery in TIM, where he worked and trained students have been closed by the authorities in LPPKJ-TIM, he secretly wrote a letter containing a request to resign.

On 22 s / d 28 February 1973, Nashar held solo exhibitions at TIM. Forty fruit painting works of the new or the old show. A set of the works of a painter painting may be analogous to a collection of poetry enthusiasts or critics in the field to test advanced artist retreat. And the works themselves will provide answers to the level, value and weight. From here we can view the whole. It is not possible we get if we only considered one or two paintings on display along with the work of other painters.

In connection with this intimate interview with Nashar, in a shop behind a wooden fence painter witnessed TEAM Mustika (painting exhibition manager) and on the table three bottles of water and a pile of beans, tofu and tempeh, this painter with a relaxed answer questions and be very careful .

As a painter who has taught at LPKJ, Nashar argued that an academy for students to see the benefits for humans who live the academy. And viewed from the angle would be beneficial to human life. You see how students use the knowledge gained. To make himself an artist. Viewed from the corner of Academy Art in Indonesia not yet exist. For the current academic emphasis on skill. And there never was an academic who directs the direction of creating art.

Nashar, too often disappointed in the state of society today, including body art in Indonesia. About the fabric of society if he considers idiom based on the slogan "The right man on the right place". He assumes, that the size of the peak of creativity based on what human beings have ever achieved is: Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, George Braque and Kandinski.

The life of an artist like this Nashar to an outsider may be unique, he can live how they are, even as Cokot (carver from Bali) is not a lot of demands on their daily living. Alluding to the way life is very simple, with a comfortable stay at Balai Budaya, states: "Where I'm at home just because they want to live my attitude in situations which, however,".
